Standing in the midst of the congregation to minister the Lord’s Body and Blood to one’s brothers and sisters is a privilege and blessing. It must be approached conscientiously and humbly with the awareness that no one is worthy of the role, but that by the grace of God that worthiness has been bestowed. This ministry serves the parish by assisting the priest to distribute the Blessed Sacrament host and cup at Sunday and special Masses, weekday Mass and to the sick and elderly at home. For weekend Masses the commitment is for two years serving approximately one weekend in three. The frequency depends on the Mass you normally attend and the total number of ministers available for that Mass at any given time. You must be 21 years of age or older and be in good standing with the Church.
