Sacristan

The sacristan is an officer who cares for the sacristy (where vestments and sacred vessels are stored), the sanctuary and all the contents. A sacristan prepares for the Eucharist. The sacristan places cruets, chalices an hand towels on the credence table. Sacristan duties include keeping items stocked that are necessary for Mass and holy days. The sacristan checks purifications for cleanliness, and keeps the altar clothes changed.
