Marriage

According the Catechism of the Catholic Church, this matrimonial covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament. (CCC 1601)

Wedding Guidelines

Couples planning to marry at St. Joseph the Worker Parish are asked to contact one of the parish priests at least six months prior to the date desired (one year prior would not be too early). At least one of the intended spouses must be Roman Catholic.

Archdiocesan regulations require that bride and groom both complete the Marriage Instruction course given at the Archdiocesan level, and no exceptions can be made.

While there is no set fee for weddings, it is suggested that the couple provide a donation of $500-1000 or 5 – 10% of your total wedding budget to the Parish. These donations help with the running and upkeep of the Parish and our programs.

Our priests receive nothing for their services. Individual donations are always gratefully accepted. Please note that a visitor from elsewhere at the request of the bride and/or groom will ask for fees.

Please do not book halls or restaurants before first appointment.
